[Workaround] OA getting slower and slower
« on: July 06, 2011, 04:58:54 PM »

Alright, so, first off I'm using Windows 7 64bit with 32bit Java (me thinks).
I'm using the latest Version of the OA (1.2.5/2.2.3).
My problem is that the OA is starting out perfect but after some time it's getting slower and slower and slower to the point that it's barely even responding anymore.
I do get quite a few "6:57:40 : Thread generated unhandled exception : java.lang.NullPointerException
16:57:43 : Scanne : 8-243" now and again too.

The bot is taking up about 680.000K of RAM, which is a HUGE amount.

Edit: It seems to only happen when the RaidBot is active.

it's about x10 of what it supposed to be ;D
when you launch OA, it's writing database's stats, can you copy and post it here, thanks

to resolve the issue with the memory usage :
1. Close OA
2. Delete OA/Databases folder
3. Start OA

Regards,

00:33:57 : Alliances rank history : 965.780
00:33:57 : Attacking Stats : 2.305 attacked, 99.346.867 metal, 47.859.698 crystal, 14.045.751 deuterium

I deleted the folder and OA has reduced its usage SIGNIFICANTLY.
After init it is now down to 37.964K/29.93MB, thank you very much!

I know, and working on a new Database schema for September/October builds.

It's a un-inspected result of galaxy/spy reports sharing, about 20 galaxy scans are dispatched every second, so for the most active unis it's increasing the overall database size very rapidly...

Deleting the database seemed to have made it more responsive. Changing the theme even more so, but it still get's quite sloppy after about a day of Raiding with the Raid Bot.
I have to restart OA every day because it gets too sloppy after a while.

Oh yeah, and another problem (I dont want to create a new thread for that) is that the bot doesn't seem to recall saved fleets very well.
Actually he doesn't recall them at all. He's counting down to 0, but nothing happens. It stays at 0 and he never recalls it.
