Detecting a "Spying Attack"
« on: September 08, 2010, 05:13:09 AM »

It happened to me that an enemy fleet of 1.300 ships has been sent again my planet with "Spying" mission, and naturally OA didn't FleetSave because it wasn't an attack.
I'm not sure if a function for detecting the number of ships composing a spying enemy fleet might be "pratical" to develop, neither if this is something just happened to me... but in case It could be a nice feature.
( For example: up to 22 units could be considered a normal spying fleet, over it should be considered an attacking one! )

I would like to hear other players ideas and consideration, Thanks.

Yeah, this is a needed feature.

It would probably be best to ask if this can be included in the new fleet save code that DH is working on, which does battle sims on incoming attacks before doing a fleet save. I'm sure he can make it do battle sims on all incoming hostile fleets (attacks and spying) once he works out the bugs in his current test build.

http://forum.ogameautomizer.com/index.php/topic,691.0.html is the thread I was referring to.

Thank you for sharing your tough Memnoch :)
Yes, I've also seen the new version DH is working on and it's great...I hope he might solve the bug as soon as possible. It would be definitely a good idea simply to battle-sim all incoming fleet, attacking or spying.  8)

Not exactly: it happens that a player can send a battle fleet plus some spy probes and thus setting "Spying" as mission target.
